Restorative Yoga Teacher Training

  • Studio 108 6487 Brecksville Road Independence, OH, 44131 United States (map)

Teaching all styles of yoga is a bit like cooking – everyone brings their own unique flair to their creation. But honing the craft takes training and skill, and this is particularly true with restorative yoga.  Using props that aren't too tall or too flat but just right for each particular body (a little like Goldilocks) takes skill.

In Sacred Calm Restorative Yoga Teacher Training, teachers learn to assist all students in being propped so that every joint is nicely nuzzled by a blanket, bolster, or block. They also learn to create an atmosphere of dreamy abandon, allowing the nervous system to down-regulate to its parasympathetic state, or our “Rest and Digest” mode.

Learning the subtleties of teaching Restorative Yoga provides teachers with an important tool to assist students in reducing their chronic stress – which is a chronic condition in our hyper-adrenalized society. Restorative yoga is also aids for students with chronic illness, allowing their immune systems to come to the forefront and make needed repairs.

Topics include:
 - Understanding the autonomic nervous system as well as body systems most affected by restorative yoga
 - Looking for “the drop” of the nervous system in our restorative practice
 - Learning the language of release to soothe busy brains & stressed bodies
 - Observing the subtle flow of a body at rest & propping accordingly
 - Assessing your sleep patterns & understanding the power of sleep

 - Assessing your self-care and examining your own self-care plan

The Weekend Immersion will meet as follows:
February 24th from 12:30 - 6:30 AND February 25th from 12:30 - 6:30
