The Art + Science of Teaching Barre + Sculpt:
▸ Anatomy & Alignment
Understand foundational anatomy and biomechanics
Learn in-depth alignment principles
Explore functional movement patterns and safe cueing for all bodies
▸ Contemporary Pilates Principles
Integrate contemporary pilates concepts as informed by Leah’s Merrithew training
Emphasis on breath control, core integration, and stability
▸ Exercise Foundations
Learn body positions and movement patterns.
Explores exercise actions and their muscular focus
Discover strength and cardio integration within the barre structure
Emphasis on functional training to support everyday movement and longevity
▸ Teaching Methodology
Practice teaching with real-time feedback
Learn sequencing for flow, safety, and creativity
Learn modifications and progressions for all levels
Develop motivational cueing and voice
Appreciate musicality: how to work with rhythm, phrasing, and energy

This program also requires both practice teaching and personal practice in Leah’s barre+sculpt classes at Studio 108 to be scheduled at your convenience between and after teacher training weekends.
About Leah Rachelle:
Leah is thrilled to launch Studio 108’s Barre + Sculpt Teacher Training, blending her love of science-backed fitness, education and somatic embodiment.
With a diverse and dynamic background in fitness and healing arts, Leah brings warmth, precision, intelligence and a wealth of experience to every class and training she leads.
Leah’s movement journey began in 2015 when she discovered barre under the guidance of Stacey Deganero. What started as a spark quickly ignited into a full-fledged commitment to mind-body fitness. Since then, Leah has completed a range of certifications, including:
Antigravity Fitness Instructor Training (2017)
Barre Teacher Training (2108)
200-hour Yoga Teacher Training (2018)
500-hour Yoga Teacher Training (2021)
Level 1 STOTT Pilates Instructor, with advanced coursework in mat, reformer, Cadillac, and the stability chair
Certified Personal Trainer & Group Fitness Instructor through ACE
Leah has been teaching at Studio 108 since 2021, and her classes are known for their supportive energy and embodiment-centered approach.
Outside the studio, Leah works as a health coach and somatic therapist, weaving together her educational background in social work and board certification in health and wellness coaching to support clients in navigating anxiety, embodiment, and sustainable lifestyle habits for healthy living.
Leah also loves geeking out on nutrition science, herbal medicine, and a good cup of coffee—and unwinding with some reality TV.
Whether she’s on the mat, the barre, or in a one-on-one session, Leah is devoted to helping people feel more at home in their bodies and empowered in their lives.
