About Tracy

Tracy Rhinehart, E-RYT 500, YACEP, CCYT appreciates yoga as a path to self-discovery, self-acceptance and self-empowerment. Her practice has taken her into the dark shadows within her body and mind. And, her practice has revealed to her the light of her own sweet soul.

Having experienced the healing, growth and transformation that a yoga practice provides, she became interested in and committed to connecting with others by teaching yoga. Her own inner work allows her to offer compassion, strength, patience, grace and love to those she teaches, guides and supports.

Tracy is registered and recognized by the Yoga Alliance with over 11,000 teaching hours logged. She received her 200 level teacher certification at Cleveland Yoga with Tami Schneider in May of 2010. Dedicating herself to jnana yoga (the path of wisdom and study), she earned a 500 level certificate from Awaken Yoga with Jennifer Langsdale in 2013. She is a teacher of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan having trained with Guru Jagat, Harijiwan, Tej and Gurujas at RAMA Institute in Venice CA. in 2019-2020. She is certified in Trauma Sensitive Yoga from The Trauma Center as well as Yoga for Kids from Rainbow Kids Yoga. Tracy has gained knowledge and inspiration from Shiva Rae, Danny Arguetty, Mike Cohen, Tymi Howard, Jonny Kest, Doug Keller, Joe Barnett, Richard Gartner and many other local and international yoga teachers accumulating over 1000 hours of training.

Tracy is attuned as a Usui/Holy Fire III Reiki Master. She is also a certified Thai Massage practitioner having trained with Sarah Cheeky of the Shivagakomarpaj Lineage. And she is a three star Johnny G Spinning instructor.

Tracy holds a Master of Education degree from Kent State University. She taught early childhood special education in the Cleveland Heights-University Heights City Schools for 23 years. Her love of children inspired her to create The Friendship Club, a summer program for children with special needs which she operated for ten years.  Her experiences with young children bring out her innate playfulness and remind her that everyone learns more when having fun and feeling happy!

Considered a teacher's teacher, Tracy is the Director of Teacher Training at Yoga 108: School of Yoga. Offerings at Yoga 108 include a 200 level teacher training program, a variety of quality continuing education workshops (YACEP) and an advanced 300 hour training program for yoga teachers seeking mastery of their craft. Having contributed to the teacher training programs at Yoga Bliss, Awaken Yoga, Studio Oxygen, Flex Yoga and other yoga studios in the region, Tracy is passionate about helping teachers find their voice and lead from a place of authenticity, clarity and presence.

Tracy was the creative force behind Akron’s premier free outdoor community yoga festival Elevate Akron - as well as the yoga teacher on stage leading the love and laughter! Her enthusiasm and commitment to community were appreciated by the sponsors, vendors, partnering non-profits, local studios and yoga teachers as the event grew from 600 participates at Hardesty Park in 2015 to blanketing Lock 3 with nearly 3000 mats in 2019. After five years of serving as Director of the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Tracy turned the event over to a powerful group of community members who continue to inspire followers to elevate the City of Akron.

Tracy is a legacy ambassador for lululemon athletica Akron.

Tracy teaches Kundalini Yoga, Yin Yoga and Vinyasa Yoga classes that offer a tangible sense of bhava/feeling essence. She has a true gift for infusing a class with heartfelt themes, stories and musings that are expressed in asana, breath and mantra and that guide students to an embodied experience of heightened self-awareness. Her classes are carefully crafted to offer students both moments of physical challenge and times for tender compassion. Practicing with Tracy allows one to shed outer layers and travel the intimate personal path towards inner truth.

“I’m always so astounded at Tracy’s ability to hold space for everyone, create an environment to really tap into our bodies, assist in a safe way to deepen our experience, and sequence a class in such a natural, but creative way. It’s so clear that this is her purpose and calling. Every class with her brings a new awareness and connection to my mind and body.”
